Almost 5 months

This little man is growing up so fast, he is such a joy to be around. I haven't taken him in for his check up but I am pretty sure he weighs about 12 lbs. I think he is getting teeth on the bottom and he LOVES rice cereal, or anything you put in his mouth. He giggles at his sister all the time. He takes about 20 minute cat naps through the day and wakes up frequently at night. But we love him sooo soo much! He is one happy little boy.

The National High School Finals Rodeo

The wagon with the donut on top (you could spot it from a mile away)

The sales lady herself...Kylee Jo Johnson. She had no problem selling donuts and t-shirts.
She would walk up to people and say "would you like a t-shirt?...only 10 bucks!"

She has added "being a rodeo queen" to her list of things to be when she grows up. The others at the moment are...
Nurse, veterinarian, hair stylist

We had another successful year at the NHSFR. It was bittersweet for us as our summer is ending, and we will be leaving Cowboy Donuts for 2 years. We feel truly blessed for the blessings and opportunities that have come our way because of the donut shop. The Rodeo week was long but full of fun and meeting great people.

Derek met this guy named Paul that runs the Brick Oven restaurant. They went one night and toured the whole kitchen and she got to make her own pizza. It was pretty yummy!

The grocery store and dress up shoes

"I don't want to drive up to the pearly gates in a shiny sports car, wearing beautifully, tailored clothes, my hair expertly coiffed, and with long, perfectly manicured fingernails. I want to drive up in a station wagon that has mud on the wheels from taking kids to scout camp. I want to be there with a smudge of peanut butter on my shirt from making sandwiches for sick neighbors children. I want to be there with a little dirt under my fingernails from helping to weed someone's garden. I want to be there with children's sticky kisses on my cheeks and the tears of a friend on my shoulder. I want the lord to know I was really here and that I really lived."-Marjorie Hinkley

I have thought about this quote many times lately. I particularly thought about it tonight when I watched Derek and Ky hold hands across the grocery store parking lot. She walked along side him with these cute little dress up shoes on, and proceeded to walk through the store and push the grocery cart for us. She insisted she do it herself.
Or waking up in the morning and have Nash smile so big and make me feel like I am the most important person in his life. I feel like life has been especially busy for us this summer, but each night I lay in bed and reflect on my day. I feel so blessed for so many things and people in my life. But I am most grateful for my sweet children and Derek. There is one thought in my life that has remained constant. That is...I never want to have regrets of not taking the time for my children. I feel like I have done so thus far. Through opening up a business to going through nursing school I have made time for my family. After all, they are the most important to me.
I don't know what has sparked my thoughts lately, maybe being extra busy. But I find my thoughts continually going back to this quote. I want to enjoy each moment of my life....
I love you D, kylee jo and Nash! Thanks for making me smile everyday!

Wyoming fun with family

While Linda was here, my friend Margarett came to visit as well. One day they all went rafting at the Flaming Gorge. I stayed because Nash was too little to be on the river all day. It sounded like they had a good time. We also took a ride up the mountain. We always enjoy the pretty Wyoming sky and open spaces.

We have had lots of visitors, which we love. Linda (my cousin) and her family came for 10 days. We went back and forth from Wyoming to Utah. It was a good time.  We headed up the canyon on Friday to check out the falls. Nash slept through it.
All the kids

We had such a nice visit with the Transki clan. Thanks for coming to see us!!
