Well, on a whim we decided to go look at a puppy we had found online. When we got there, of course we fell in love and decided to get one. I felt at this point, without having a baby to take care of, we could do this. It has been a lot of work, but Im excited to have a running buddy among other things. Dogs are great to have around. D has such a soft spot for pups. He's such a good dog.

Our kylee jo is 9!
Dear Kylee jo,
As your 9th birthday has approached, I have had so many memories flood my mind. It is you who I learn so much from. Your kind, compassionate heart is something I treasure. I hope that throughout your life, you will be able to touch peoples lives with so many of your talents that make up who you are. I hope you can continue to befriend those who need your love and support. You are a true follower of Jesus Christ. This past year we have read the scriptures together. We have chatted about them, the stories, and born testimony to each other. It amazes me how much you retain and learn. The vivid memory you paint in your mind of the stories in the scriptures is something i wish I had.
Ive been thinking about your first birthday, how at that time, you were my bud. You kept me going in one of the hardest times in my life. You always loved me, smiled at me, and kept me busy. As I would look at you, I knew school was something I had to finish. You were this small, spunky little girl that has grown to be this still spunky 9 year old girl, but with so many qualities I can't name them all. Here are a few...
Your creativity, sense of style, ability to forgive quickly and move on, thoughtful, good listener, able to connect with adults, even if they are 80 or 90 years of age.
Kylee, if there is one thing I could tell you, it would be...to always put your father in heaven first. If you have Christ at the center of your life, all things are possible. The fullest and most joy and happiness you can feel is from living the gospel. The other thing is, being your best and true self. I tell you that everytime you get out of the car, Be YOU. You are beautiful, intelligent, funny, and above all, a daughter of your heavenly father. You can achieve all things through him, and through positivity and love in your life. Surround yourself by that positivity, it will bring joy and fulfillment in your life.
Kylee jo, I love you so much. Each day I strive to be the best version of myself, for YOU and your brother. This is my divine calling in this life and I want nothing more than my family to be together for time and all eternity.
Your amazing girl, don't ever let any one dull your sparkle.
Love,
Mom

Sweetness
Nash wanted to bake a cake this morning, so we did. He just waited until he could ice it and then licked it. I am grateful I can be home with my kids and do these simple things. My kids are so simple and easy going. I feel as of late that I sometimes have a hard time being out of my own head. Each night when I go to bed I think about my day. What I could have done better, all the things I could do better. But in reality, I need to remember that i can't be perfect. I need to enjoy these moments. Which I do, I just can't kick myself when I am not perfect at everything in my day.
Kylee came home and gave nash some stickers. She had saved her tickets for weeks at school and bought him spiderman stickers. My kids do these things for each other all the time. It is so tender and sweet to see.
They were folding towels tonight. Kylee taught him how to fold the small towels, by making airplanes on the sides. Nash did it and was so so excited about it. Kylee is one of the most patient people I know. I love to see when she takes time to play with Nash. They giggled and had such a fun time tonight throwing a ball around.

Nashers turns 4
My sweet little boy turned 4 yesterday. I can remember the day he was born like yesterday. Nash is such a kind hearted little spirit. As he grows and talks more, he has developed into this inquisitive, outgoing personality. Today in the car he told me I was the best mom ever. It made me feel so good. He is such a sensitive little guy and I love it when he shares his feelings.
Yesterday was low key and enjoyable. The night before, he had found his presents wrapped in my closet. He put them all around his room. When he woke up in the morning he wanted to open them right away as fast as he could. They were all rescue bots. He is so into transformer rescue bots. So the rest of the morning he played with them and then headed off to school. He brought cupcakes and suckers for his friends. Kylee and I went in and watch him and his class eat the cupcakes. He just eats the frosting of course. We were a sucker short due to a new kid in the class, so nash gave his sucker to her. It was pretty sweet. Then we came home and he played some more. He didn't want to go out, he wanted to order pizza. So we did that.
I am so grateful for Nash in my life. He is such a special kid. The way he talks, his cute little blue glasses, his love for tractors and rescue bots. He just studies and is so particular about things. The way he rides his "little red" strider bike and races around on it. I just love him so much.
