Nash noticing the stars for the first time

It's little moments like these that I cherish. We went for a Mav ride tonight and he spotted the moon and told us it was white. We got home and had the back door open and I went out to check on him and he was looking up at the sky and pointing. How sweet these little moments are with these sharp minds that are constantly learning, discovering, and creating. I'm so blessed to be their mom.

Touch a truck

Rock springs did a event yesterday called "touch a truck". There was every type of machine possible parked at the Rec center for kids to sit in and look at. Nash loved it!!

Thunderstorm and stories

"If life and its rushed pace and many stresses have made it difficult for you to feel like rejoicing, then perhaps now is a good time to refocus on what matters most.” -Dieter F. Uchtdorf
First off, I love this quote and it is a very good reminder of what really matters. There are so many distractions and my biggest fear is having regret about not spending enough time with my kids. I do not have social media for this reason and many more. Although I feel like as of late I have been spending more time on distractions then reading my scriptures or focusing on teaching my kiddos. It's summer, my favorite time of year. I am hard on myself and I do realize I need ME time every once in a while. But today at Church I got that little reminder bc we got asked to speak in church. We also got called as youth Sunday school teachers. This week I feel like I will get back on track bc I have a lot of preparation to do. I am so grateful for the little reminders the lord gives me when I need them. Anyways, onto the fun stuff. We had a nice little thunderstorm today. Nash and ky sat and looked out the window. As they watched the rain come down Derek told some of their favorite stories. They laugh so hard, bc his stories are very entertaining. Nash was so excited to watch the rain come down and make the huge puddle in the back yard. After the rain stopped you can guess what he did for hours.

Is the tooth fairy real?

Well I have been asked this question twice now by Kylee Jo. My answer is... It is if you want her to be. It's more fun that way. Her answer is, "but mom, tell me the truth" she is such a realist and too smart for her own good sometimes. I feel like I am too young to be answering these types of questions. Haha. She gave it up tonight, I don't want to lie but my mom always told me, they won't bring you anything if you don't believe in them. Maybe that will do for a while. She's growing up way too fast. Here she is with her two front teeth out. Dr Harmon pulled them, her grown up teeth are right there. She's pretty brave and was pretty excited about getting them pulled out. She's a tough girl, I can talk her through things. She's just brave. When she got the shot to numb her up, she didn't flinch or anything. Not even a tear. She just said "ouch mom, that hurts".
Before
After.
She wanted Nash to touch her hole, so he did. Then she asked Marc to poor water from a cup into the whole. So he did. She's hilarious. She also said before going to sleep, that she was going to share the money that she gets with her bro. I was like, ky that is so nice, but you don't have to do that. Ah! I love that girl.

Cousins are so much fun

A few weeks ago the family was in town, and it rained, a lot! So we went for long rides and splashed in puddles. We may have even gotten stuck a time or two. I took the cousins for a long gator ride and we had so much fun. Nash absolutely loves the mud and soaked it all in on the gator, which he loves bc I think it's kind of like a tractor to him. It was a blast. I love being able to make memories like that with their cousins. We stopped and climbed a big rock too. When we got home they were so proud of the mud all over.

Summer Mav rides

We were fortunate enough to buy a side by side this year. It has been so fun going on evening rides and beautiful Wyoming. The kids love it, we could do it every night and they would be happy. The other night we went up in the Kiu rain and explored a new part of rock springs that we had never been to. We stopped at one point and built a fire. It was a blast. I feel like we will never forget these family memories. It has also been fun to take visitors. D took his mom and 86 year old grandma Mary up. It was awesome.
