Colorado in October
Derek went to a byu game with his mission buddies one weekend and we decided to head to Colorado Springs to see our friend Allison and Dan. It was a really good time. We went to garden of the gods and hiked with the kids. It was so beautiful.
Our second grader
My little girl is growing up. We thought 1st grade was an adjustment but 2nd has been even more of one. We can't believe how big she is getting. She is developing and not our baby anymore. We also can't believe the conversations we have had to have with her already. Needless to say there have been lots of prayers on her behalf, so when she goes to school she can make right decisions and know that when she comes home she can talk to us about anything! Specifically all the grown up things she hears. I am grateful for a Heavenly Father who hears and answers my prayers. I know he listens to me, and I know he guides me. He guides me to know how to say and teach things to her. I am grateful that she communicates to me so well. She is such a light in our life and other peoples. At the beginning of the school year. She has a friend that she sat by at school. The girl started crying and Kylee went over and asked her why. The girl said she misses her mom and told her she was a foster child. Kylee told her she could pray to Heavenly Father and he will help her. I was so amazed. Number one that she is very aware of other people's feelings, but number 2 because she basically shared truth and testimony to this girl. The girl did t say anything back but I was so proud of her.
Mountain time
Derek was in Vegas for the weekend with my dad and brother. It was a beautiful day and so we spent the afternoon on the mountain with our bikes. It was so beautiful, it was our last Saturday before it got cold. These are the memories I cherish. It was so fun. We played hide and seek and Kylee and I pee'd behind a rock. Haha while we were doing so Nash looked over and said, "ewww". They are just a joy to be around. I don't want them to grow up.
Thanksgiving celebrations
We have celebrated thanksgiving twice so far and it hasn't even been thanksgiving. We went to Doug and ayzs and helped them with their kitchen. This pic is of Nash being one of the boys. And then we celebrated at my parents this past weekend. We already decorated for Christmas bc we already celebrated thanksgiving and Kylee was so ready to have the stuff up.
Chels and sisi come see us
We had a visit from Sisi and Chelsey this past week. They drove up for the day. Kylee got to play hookie from school and we just hung out all day. The kids love it when they come. There's always lots of laughs and plenty of silly faces going on. Kylee and Sisi made Chelsey a birthday cake, it was very colorful. So grateful for them in our lives!

Playing with chips
Haha I don't really want to say "poker" but Kylee and Derek have been enjoying some friendly games of poker lately. It's pretty cute watching them interact together. They have a lot of similarities and one of them is winning! She's a Johnson through and through. Love them!

Little moments
This evening was so fun. We had dinner and then the kids wrestled with Derek and got piggy back rides. Nothing out of the ordinary. And then Derek said he needed water. Nash went in the kitchen and got a cup, went in the bathroom and filled it up for water. He was so proud of himself. Then he went and got us all water. It was just so cute bc he was so excited to do it. Then he spilled some on my pants and got a Kleenex to clean it up. These are the little moments I cherish and wish I could just remember and record it.
Nash started speech therapy last month. It has been so good for him. He has already started to improve. He now says a lot of two word sentences. He just started saying "ya dude" today. D asked him if I was a dude? He said "no, dad" it was so funny.
This past weekend we went to Laramie and celebrated thanksgiving with the fam and helped out with dougs house. On the way home Kylee asked if we could decorate for Christmas because we already celebrated thanksgiving. So we did! It is the 9th of November and we are all ready for Christmas!
