The donut shop

Such good memories at the shop.

Farm country

Some friends of ours invited us to Thanksgiving point to the "farm country". We had such a fun time. They brushed a horse, went on a hayride and did all sorts of fun things.

Easter 2014

A big decision

We'll after much thought and prayer we have decided not to move to Reno for the summer. It was a huge decision. Last minute we had some things come up that we felt it was best to stay and focus on building the kolache business. This is a major turning point in our lives. The internship that we got was pretty desirable with great perks and benefits. Derek and I like to have options. Making this decision was a leap of faith because this left us with one option. Prior to making the decision I came across this scripture in d&c 8:2 "yea, behold, I will tell you in your mind and in your heart, by the Holy Ghost, which shall come upon you and which shall dwell in your heart". I know that The Lord speaks to us and guides us in our lives. He never lets us down. I'm so grateful for the blessings he so freely gives to us.

Sweet thoughts from Kylee jo

A few days before my grams passed away kylee said a prayer before bed. In her prayer she said, "please bless grandma Bev that she will be able to go to heaven with other papa" at that point my grams was in pretty bad shape. She held on for what seemed like a long time. Kylee wasn't told anything but that we would be going to Texas yet again to see grams. So when she said that tender prayer it was so special. What a comfort we have to know that we will see our loved ones again. I feel so grateful for the knowledge that I have of this gospel and the plan of salvation. Mostly what a blessing I have in Kyle jo.  What an amazing girl she is.

A few days ago we were driving in the car. Ky said "mom, someday I'm going to thank you for all the nice things you have done for me." It was so sweet.

We were on a walk the other day, I love our walks because as I push the stroller and she riders her bike or scooter beside me, we chat about all kinds of things. D and I have been contemplating home school. Basically we are weighing our options for education. I was chatting with her about school and    different things. She asked "so how many hours do I have to go to first grade?" I said "6 hours or so" and then she asked "how many for homeschool." "I said maybe 3' I'm not sure" she then said "ok I want to do homeschool" her intellectual questions amaze me.

Another thought about homeschool. Derek and I were chatting about it in the car. As always she's in the back seat singing. I told Derek, "I just don't know, I just want to know what to do" Kylee piped in and said "mom, why don't you just pray about it and ask Heavenly Father what to do?" At that moment I thought...wow...education is very important...Derek and I want the best for her in every aspect of her life. At the same time...I feel that what we are teaching her about the gospel is far more important than anything else. I want my children to know and have a relationship with our Heavenly Father. That little moment eased my mind a little bit about homeschool. I know that The Lord will help us make the right decision but for now...those little moments keep me in check just knowing that  the most important things are being taught.

Channel 2 news....twice!

The news came to the shop and I dont have a pic of that...so here is a pic of the Governor visiting the shop.

He just sat and ate a donut with us. Pretty cool.
My husband continues to amaze me with his passion and love for what he does. He is good at what he does and being at school has continued to poor blessings on our fam. I thought that being on the food network was awesome...we'll the past couple of weeks he has been on the local Utah news... Wow!

Mother's Day 2014

My Mother's Day was wonderful. We spent the day as a family, which was really great considering we don't get a lot of days all together at home doing nothing. Hopefully we will have more of those more frequently. D got me a card....I love the cards he picks for me. This one sings when you open it, like a choir singing...this is what his card said, "mish. I love you more than words. So that's why I enlisted the help of this choir. I appreciate all you do that mostly goes unnoticed. You are a terrific mother to our children, and I know they were sent here to learn specifically from you. Thanks for always being excited about our adventures. Here's to many more." I love that man. He is seriously the best. (I want to record things like this because this is my journal). I feel like this time in our life is a defining time...I feel that we will look back specifically on the things that have happens to us. How grateful I am for our blessings, our health, our relationships, and our savior!
I love my mama

Fancy Fancy

We were able to go to this banquet put on by the "utah Student 25" for Cowboy Donuts. It was a great excuse to get all dressed up for a night on the town. It was a black tie affair...something we have never experienced. It was really fun!
