Back track to halloween

So I am getting a little ahead of myself with the holidays but I can't forget about Halloween. Kylee was elsa, of course. And Nash was a byu football player. If I could have found him a tractor costume he would have been that for sure, he is obsessed. Ky loved face painting this year as she painted all the neighbor kids faces. Also Nash's a couple times a day as it got closer. For Halloween though we spent it in wy. We went and trick or treated at the old folks home. It was really fun. Afterward kylee came home and painted her faces scary to pass out candy.

I think it lacks a little bit of color, don't you?

That was the response kylee and I got after we decorated our Christmas tree. It was pretty hilarious. D just looked over and said, "it lacks a little color don't you think?" I love this Christmas season. It is so fun with little kids. Derek and my started before thanksgiving. They had a deal going. Whoever got home from school first would play Christmas music for the other when they walked in the door. Not to mention the cinnamon pine cones throughout the house is time of year.

Thanksgiving

We went to Idaho for thanksgiving and it was great as always. I love to sit around and visit and listen to his bros tell childhood stories and such. They are hilarious. We also got to go to the temple and see Andrew and Ashley be sealed. It was fabulous. There are so many things I am thankful for this year.

They help me up when I get knocked down...

Yesterday was a hard day; we all have them. Well my family obviously knows when I need them. The kids and I were in bed by 7:45 last night to say the least. D hadn't come home yet, sometimes we run on all cylinders being in graduate school. But each day we feel very blessed to be where we are and for the opportunities that the lord blesses us with on a daily basis. We recognize them everyday, even when its a hard day. It ended with Nash going right to sleep for me and Kylee jo's prayer. When she went to bed last night she said my name specifically in the prayer. Its like she knew I needed it. When we woke up early this morning to do spelling words, she again prayed for me specifically. When D got home, Im sure he walked in and could tell what kind of a day I had. The house was a complete disaster. It isn't normal for me to go to bed before my house is somewhat picked up so I can start fresh the next day. Not to mention it was quiet and we were all in bed. I know he had a long couple of days and we hadn't seen him. But when I woke up this morning the house was spotless. He had done every dish in the sink, picked up every toy and straightened up everything. I felt so grateful. He always knows what I need. He set aside his long day to help me with mine. I am so grateful for my husband, I don't know how he does all that he has to do yet still picks me up out of my weak moment. I am so blessed to have these wonderful people in my life. Its ok to have a hard day, but I can't let it carry over, and how could I if i tried? They lift me up when I'm down, put a smile on my face when Im sad, pray for me when I haven't prayed for myself, and do my job when I fall short. Thank you to my sweet little family!

tractor boy

This boy is obsessed with tractors of all kinds. That's the first thing he says when he wakes up in the morning. He takes them wherever he goes. We sure love him. He went from the 3rd percentile to the 5th! He's growing up but just a little guy. He says lots of words and is so bright. So grateful to be home with him!

New school

This past summer I put Kys name on a list for a charter school near our house. Well they called a few weeks ago and said they just had an opening. I immediately hesitated because she was already 3 weeks into school. Hindsight, we feel like it was a great decision. She tested in the highest level of math and she is enjoying the new school. I wondered how the uniform would go, but she doesn't mind it. I know she's a little fashionista, but she just changes right when she gets home. She also started tumbling this fall. She has found her love. I am amazed at how much she has learned in such a short time. She does back bends, the splits, and all sorts of things. The only thing is, she is doing it constantly, wherever we are.

Helping at the donut shop

The kids love helping in the shop. With ky it's nothing new....she has been doing it for years. But Nash loves to help roll kolaches and help papa. And of course eat any donut he can get his hands on.
